Friends of St Marys'

To quote our former rector, "St Marys Church is a Grade I listed building with Grade I listed bills."

Over the last 15 years, work to maintain the fabric of St Marys’ has cost in excess of £250,000. This has only been possible because of the financial support of the Friends of St Marys’. Details of the various projects that we have undertaken are available on the Church Fabric and Maintenance page. However, the nature of a building such as our church means that there is always work to be done, and of course this work requires funds.

Please help us to preserve this wonderful building, which together with its fixtures and fittings is such an outstanding feature of Tetbury. You can help by joining the Friends of St. Marys’. All donations will be used for repair, maintenance and improvement of the fabric of St. Marys’. For details, please contact the Parish Office.

As a Friend, you will be also invited to attend special events that we host at the church. Last year we held a Tower open day, and Friends were invited to visit the ringing chamber and see how the bells are rung (brave Friends were also welcome to pull a bell rope). The more hardy Friends ascended to the top of the tower to take in the view of the surrounding countryside, including a rarely seen aspect of Highgrove House.

We will be organizing more events this year; watch this space for details.
