Parish Life

We regularly hold a variety of social and other events throughout the year. Here are some photographs highlighting the activities that we have enjoyed. Watch this page for more photos and regular updates. If you have a photo of a parish event, or any anecdotes that you would like to share, please email webmaster@tetburychurch.co.uk.

The Posada, December 2019

Mary and Joseph continued their travels round Tetbury staying with Donna Crowther and her family.

They joined in with our servers Christmas drinks and nibbles at Gwen’s house. They then continued their journey round Tetbury before arriving back in Church on Christmas morning with Baby Jesus

Mary and Joseph came to Coffee Pot at Christ Church with us on Wednesday morning, so were able to visit the tent of some fellow travellers to Bethlehem, the wise men, which has been erected in the prayer corner of the church for prayer and reflection during Advent. Mary and Joseph were present during a short time of prayer and worship.

Today the Posada went to the Silcock household. We went into the Town and were lucky enough to go up the tower at St Mary’s Church to watch the bell ringers in action, accompanying the Town’s lights switch on. After descending the 52 steps back down the tower we checked out the lights on the Market Hall.

We stopped for a chat with the local firemen.

Then we had a quick visit to see Father Christmas, before seeing the lovelygarlands being made at St Mary’s Primary School.

We are looking forward to continuing our journey with our next host family tomorrow.

Jesse Tree, December 2019

Rather than sending individual Christmas cards to your friends in Tetbury Church’s congregation, why not use our “Jesse Tree”. We have a branch tree just outside the vestry door, along with recycled Christmas card message labels. You can write your individual message & hang the message on the tree. If you would like to make a donation to The Children’s Society in lieu of buying cards then this will be terrific.

Remembrance Sunday, November 2019

427 people came to the Remembrance service on Sunday 10th November. The church was decorated with poppies.
